What a great start to the garden season! We had a really nice turn out for our kickoff despite the grey morning skies and chill that still hung in the air. Thankfully the sun eventually peeked out from behind the clouds, and many people stayed to help with some key spring garden tasks. The compost was sifted, the soil was fed, seedlings were planted, worms were found, and new friends were made. Thanks to all who came out and for all your help! Let the season begin! We are so excited for this upcoming season! It's amazing how much progress we made in just one year! Everything from building these beds (check out these old photos) to building our new patio. Think of how much more we can accomplish this season!             Please come to the Southside Community Garden on Saturday April 7th at 11am to learn how you can be a part of this community garden. This will be a time for returning members to renew their membership and potential new members to learn how they can help promote, create, and maintain this sustainable green space in Southside Williamsburg, and to ask questions about the upcoming garden season. We want to build a patio to further promote this flourishing green space and to encourage further community involvement.
